Master’s Students Help the Community

March 27, 2017

Congratulations and thank you to a fantastic group of our Master’s in MIS (MSMIS) students who recently donated their time to help the local community.

Several MSMIS students reached out to Eller’s Undergraduate program asking to help with a community service project.

The Master’s students were connected with three Eller Undergraduate students who recently started a new service day called Eller LITeracy Day.

Eller LITeracy volunteered at the Tucson based, Literacy Connects and their program titled WomenRISE.

WomenRISE is a job-readiness program for immigrant and refugee women in Tucson. The program gives women the opportunity to practice and improve their English and learn the ins-and-outs of how to find a job in the U.S.

The Master’s students helped WomenRISE participants hone their professional development skills by conducting mock interviews and giving them on advise about entering the professional world.
