The end of the spring semester brings many Eller College awards, recognition's and announcements.

Congratulations to the following MIS faculty who were awarded the following!

Bin Zhang: Funding from the Center for Management Innovations in Healthcare (CMIH) for his project titled “Identify Potentially Inappropriate Opioid Use in Arizona – A Big Data Study.”

Eyran Gisches: Course Improvement and Teaching Innovation grants. Eyran’s grant funds will be used to create innovative problem sets and homework excises using Aticulate Storyline.

Faiz Currim: Neville Cramer Faculty Scholarship. Awarded by Delta Sigma Pi that focuses on faculty that promote ethics in the classroom.

Gondy Leroy: Dean’s Research Award for her English & Spanish text simplification algorithms for healthcare National Institutes of Health (NIH) grants and publications. Gondy also received full professor status this semester.

Hsinchun Chen: Kalt Prize for best doctoral student placement for MIS doctoral student Weifeng Li who will join University of Georgia as an Assistant Professor in fall 2017.

Matthew Hashim: MIS Faculty of the YearAwarded by the student members of MIS Association (MISA.)

Mingfeng Lin: Promoted to Associate Professor with tenure.
