Overview

The Conserve for CA$H program looks to improve sustainability at the University of Arizona by implementing a mutually beneficial energy-saving program in the residence halls. In this program, residents are asked to conserve energy in their rooms by turning off the lights, unplugging unnecessary items, using CFL bulbs, etc. Residence Life will set a standard for an acceptable amount of kilowatt-hours per room and residents who use under this amount will be rewarded with the equivalent saved cost on their CatCA$H accounts. Thus, students are incentivized into conserving energy in the hopes of receiving money to be used on laundry, printing, off campus dining, and other services.
