Zipperman Scholars

The Management Information Systems (MIS) Department is proud to announce its Zipperman Scholars Program.

The Zipperman Scholars Program is a competitive program designed to give freshman and sophomore pre-business majors additional exposure to MIS and job opportunities in the field.

The benefits of this program include:

  • A $100 scholarship for this semester and both semesters in the sophomore year
  • Participation in real-world IT experiences (visits to IT facilities including those in the sports and food industries)
  • Luncheons and special gatherings with seminar speakers and other distinguished Eller guests
  • Opportunities to shadow executives and IT professionals
  • Networking with business professionals, faculty, and students
  • One hour of elective credit for each semester in the program
  • Opportunities for internships
  • Preparation assistance for the admission process to the Eller College Professional Program
  • A stronger resume

The Zipperman Program is generously support by Mr. Walt Zipperman, president of DAZ Systems, Inc. DAZ Systems specializes in Oracle E-Business Suite and leveraged industry experience to provide mission-critical business solutions to small and medium sized enterprises. With over 200 successful implementations, DAZ is the largest Oracle Partner in the Western US and provides a variety of proven methodologies and a staff of experienced Oracle professionals for its customer implementations.

Zipperman Scholars are required to participate in Zipperman Scholars Program activities each semester to maintain their status as a Zipperman Scholar.

The Zipperman Program MIS team consist of

  • Dr.’s Paulo Goes (MIS Department Head),
  • Bill Neumann (MIS Senior Lecturer and MIS Undergraduate Director),
  • Patti Ota (Associate Professor of MIS),
  • Alexandra Durcikova (Assistant Professor of MIS),
  • Pam Slaten (Senior Lecturer and MIS Assistant Department Head), and
  • Ms. Anji Siegel (MIS Senior Program Coordinator).
