Distance Learning Computer Requirements

Distance Learning students will be using a variety of online applications including discussion boards, chats and virtual labs. The following will list our suggested hardware and software requirements.

PC or Mac
1 GHz Processor
1 Gigabyte System RAM
500 Megabytes Hard Drive Space (not including OS and Office software)
Preferred 768 kb/s broadband Internet connection download speed or faster. Minimum 256 Kb/s download speed.

Required Software (for accessing course content)
Adobe Flash Player
Adobe Reader 7.x or higher
Java JRE Runtime Environment 1.6.0 or higher

Expected Student Computing Environment
Windows XP/Vista, Linux, or MacOS X 10.4 operating systems or higher.
Microsoft Office or another compatible Office program.
Internet Explorer 7/8, Mozilla Firefox 3.x, Safari 4.x or other web browser supporting the above required software
