MIS MBA Dual Degree Program - Plan of Study

A student may choose to begin classes in the Fall semester with MBA core curriculum or the MS MIS core. No matter which program a student chooses to start first, the student must complete one full year (two consecutive semesters) of that program before starting the next.

The total units required for completion of the MIS MBA Dual Degree Program is between 69-71 units. Completion of the program usually requires 2.5 to 3 years of full time study.

* Individual MS projects and business plans in Entrepreneurship are taken as MIS696H. Team-based projects taken as part of a class MIS683.

** A student must take either MIS 513 or MIS 585. Students who take MIS 585, will need an additional 1-credit independent study in MIS to complete the degree.

*** 15 units of MIS coursework are counted towards the MBA degree as well as towards the MS in MIS. These courses are: MIS531, MIS541, MIS 543, MIS510, and MIS507.

MBA credits: 36-40 (including 15 credits of MIS coursework: 51-55) MIS credits: 30-33.

MIS Electives may be selected from the Concentration area list. To receive a concentration designation, student must complete at least two courses from the same concentration area.
