The Americas Conference on Information Systems (AMCIS) is an annual research conference in the information systems discipline held in the region.
AMCIS attracts 800 or more IS academicians and doctoral students, principally from North America but increasingly from other regions of the world as well. It is conducted under the auspices of the Association for Information Systems (AIS).
This year, AMCIS is being chaired by Dr. Joe Valacich (Professor of MIS) and Dr. Len Jessup (Dean, Eller College.)
The theme of AMCIS 2012 is Reflect and Redefine: Designing the Digital Future. The theme will reflect how digital technology is radically changing our everyday life both in and outside of organizations.
AMCIS 2012 will be held August 8-12, 2012 in downtown Seattle, WA at the Sheraton Seattle.
AMCIS will provide a multitude of opportunities for researchers to gather and share information including:
- MIS Camp
- Doctoral Consortia
- Workshops
- SIG/Ancillary meetings
- Conference tracks and mini-tracks
- Exhibitor booths
- Placement
