MIS Career Coordinator - Allison Bacalia

Allison is responsible for the development and implementation of a comprehensive system of career services, which incorporates both pre-and-post employment aspects for our students.

She works with both MIS undergraduate and graduate students and she manages corporate recruiting relationships including existing corporate partnerships, alumni, faculty, and other advocates.

Allison's student interaction includes coaching students through:

• Self-assessment
• Resume and cover letter reviews
• Career path advice
• Interview preparation
• Negotiation skills and closing

• Working with companies to fill their internship and full-time opportunities
• Communicating job and internship opportunities to students
• Assisting companies with campus visits and interviews

Allison joined the department in early October 2011. Prior to joining the MIS department she was a recruiter for Ventana Medical Systems where she managed full-cycle recruiting for all job openings within R&D, Global Marketing, Translational Diagnostics, Technology & Applied Research, and Medical and Clinical Affairs. Prior to Ventana, Allison was account manager and technical recruiter at the Yoh Company.

She earned her Bachelor of Science in Molecular and Cellular Biology with a Spanish Minor in 2005 from the University of Arizona.

Allison is a member of Tucson Professional Recruiters Association. In addition she is an active high school volunteer for Catalina Foothills High School.
